Lori Cameron is a mentioned character in the Showtime drama series Queer as Folk, she is David's ex-wife and the mother of Hank. She resides in Portland, Oregon with her new husband and son, Hank.

Background[]

She is only mentioned and not seen in the series. It is implied that they had a bad break, and divorce, once David told her the truth of his sexuality (and maybe truth that he was seeing a man). It is also implied that she has come to accept and forgive David as he has spoken to her about his new boyfriend, Michael, and complimenting him to her.

Season One[]

She and David would become cordial, and eventually friendly, when they conversed on the phone in regards to their son, Hank. One day, he told her that he was starting to see someone, Michael, and he complimented him to her.

During the trip to the cabin in countryside, Michael finds a picture of her over the top of the fireplace, picks the picture up and asks about her. David informs him that it’s Lori, his ex-wife. Michael briefly remarks thats she is pretty before David tells him more about his previous marriage to Lori, how and why it ended, saying that she is the reason he made the choice to be honest to whomever he loved. In stating this, he affirms that he loves Michael as well.

Later, she called and informed him that she was getting a divorce to man she married for unknown reasons and it was affecting their son as he had built a healthy step-father and step-son bond with him. Due to the situation, his step-dad’s departure (possibly angry with his mother), his grades were dropping and he wanted to quit the hockey team.
